Funding solutions / Brooks Beckman

VAT & Corporation Tax loans.
Plan around the payment.

A tax deadline can arrive before cash catches up. Brooks Beckman helps businesses explore funding for VAT and Corporation Tax bills, starting with the amount due, the deadline and how repayments would fit future cash flow.

What are you planning?

How tax funding works

A tax loan provides borrowing to meet a business tax liability, with repayments spread over an agreed period. VAT loans and Corporation Tax loans address different bills; the term, payment method, costs and eligibility depend on the lender. We will need to understand the liability and the business’s ability to meet both the loan repayments and future tax bills.

A deadline needs a realistic plan

Tell us how much is due, when it must be paid and whether anything is already overdue. Share your current figures and explain why the gap has arisen. Our approach is to understand the pressure, consider the available routes and help present the business clearly. Applying for finance does not itself extend a tax payment deadline.

What to weigh up

Compare total interest, fees, the repayment timetable and any personal guarantee or security requirements. Spreading a tax bill adds borrowing costs, and repayments may overlap with the next tax liability. Discuss the cash flow forecast with your accountant so the proposed arrangement supports a workable plan.

Your questions

VAT & Corporation Tax Loans: FAQs

Can you help with an upcoming tax bill?

Yes. Contact us with the amount, due date and business details so we can explore the funding options. Availability remains subject to lender assessment.

What if the tax is already overdue?

Tell us immediately and explain any contact with HMRC. Lender appetite for arrears varies. Contact HMRC promptly about payment difficulties rather than relying on an application being approved.

Is borrowing the only option?

No. Depending on the circumstances, HMRC may consider a Time to Pay arrangement. Discuss the alternatives with your accountant and HMRC as well as considering the costs of borrowing.
